OUTLINE: This 6 session course on Mondays & Thursdays will provide an introduction into underwriting considerations for property catastrophe business. Specifically developed for individuals early in their reinsurance career. Topics to include: reinsurance program placement; basic cat modeling concepts; how to price a risk: the general principles applicable to any type of pricing, a hypothetical cat cover placement and case discussions. ~ Strict maximum of 3 participants per organization.
DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: 4th February, 2011
TARGET AUDIENCE: open to those currently in the (re)insurance industry and related industries. Course will assume very little exposure to property cat reinsurance concepts and is suitable for those with one year of experience within the (re)insurance industry. ~ Homework will be set in between classes allowing participants to explore and apply the principles demonstrated in class.
